happy chinese new year! i went shopping with my mom and sis. i am tired. i think i wore the same outfit for three days in a row. as i was drawing this, a cute guy sat beside me and i made side-eyes at him. but then i realized i was drawing myself and that made the prospects even thinner than usual. i went home.

I've been thinking about progress. like how it's possible to have so many things going on but not end up with any real product. I have a struggle with progress by constantly think of it as something linear. sometimes i have an idea or personal project and i can never finished it because I can't work fast enough that I don't lose interest in it before it's complete, or I can't get away from it because what if I leave and never want to come back? even if it's for yourself, don't become too indulged.

i started painting again, at first to fill the empty frames littered around my house, but then i've been getting into it. The stroke of the brush against paper feels so supple and nice in a non-sexual way. buying some art supplies for the first time in like a year also gives you a high too.

I think that by nature, almost all kids are hoarders. I use to be a hoarder, possibly because I was a kid for damn long time. i have finally (hopefully) gotten rid of my attachments to pretty material things, probably because i no longer have time to dust them.

you know those folks who perv on children, and i don't mean pedophiles. I mean the wannabe brides/moms who plan to breed in the imminent future. I am starting to get like that with dogs. I will put up with dogs inappropriately drooling on me/sniffing me (i might even like it!), but I can't say I could exert anywhere near the same amount of patience with toddlers. I don't even feel annoyed at the people who wheel their dogs in baby strollers anymore. I'm starting to think it's cute. I feel like I'm losing my sanity.

after reading about the good bike project, (which embodies a combination of my two favourite topics, bicycles and rob ford, plus more! what I like is that it doesn't really have anything to do with him, but every publication feels the need to take up a good chunk of space writing about him, or writing him into anything remotely to do with bikes, mini vans, gay issues, transport, etc. i guess minuscule and vague support from the opposing side matters a lot more than the unwavering efforts from people who actually agree with you.) but anyway, I realized I never really paid any attention to street art before. I actually avoid that section in the book store. I decided to change this by contributing my own unsolicited material.

I really only do things in an narcissistic way, huh.

i don't know if i can code a whole website anymore, because even staring at the "edit html" section of blogger's templates give me headrock (that's when my brain literally feels like a heavy rock just dropped onto it, and i can feel the juices squishing as they try to deal with the pressure. basically, i just blank out and stare at a bunch of open tabs for no particular reason). but, i've made and even tinkered with morico's blog! it's not completely about ourselves, because along with our work process and product updates, we like to talk about random things we love and hate and what's going on with our lives.

morico debut! well, I've been starting similar projects with other like-minded individuals for a while now, but we were always somewhat directionless, as our personal style and taste keeps turning like a revolving door or like one's stomach after being on a rollercoaster after consuming many hotdogs, but I think we're going to stick around for a little longer this time. so morico official debut! with a logo and everything. who are we anyway? morico is a toronto-based craft collective revolving around the forest girl culture that its members have embraced. there will be a website and blog coming soon so this can stop taking up anymore space on here. screenprinted bags with removable flower pins, which I sometimes steal to decorate my own clothes. Is this one overdecorated? I'm not too used to the way my drawings look as a print, and the generic-ness of this particular print has been deemed by C as "more easter than hipster".
