moricooo debut

morico debut! well, I've been starting similar projects with other like-minded individuals for a while now, but we were always somewhat directionless, as our personal style and taste keeps turning like a revolving door or like one's stomach after being on a rollercoaster after consuming many hotdogs, but I think we're going to stick around for a little longer this time. so morico official debut! with a logo and everything. who are we anyway? morico is a toronto-based craft collective revolving around the forest girl culture that its members have embraced. there will be a website and blog coming soon so this can stop taking up anymore space on here. (the frequency of updates can go back to a decreasing value)

hey, I came by your booth at AN and thought your knits were dangerously attractive

in case you're wondering who I am of the millions of visitors you had over the weekend, I was the one that asked for the business card

I definitely look forward to see more creatives from you, and honestly, I would like to learn to knit a sushi as well haha

This is such a beautiful image! The expression, concept, and screen tones create such a warm, vintage feeling. I adore it! Will there be tote bags and mugs?? (there should be!)

Hello!
I saw your amigurumi at Anime North, and was wondering if I could ask... How do you attach the faces on yours? Is it felt glue?

I have used that in the past, but find that it makes the felt hard and sometimes unpleasant. And also comes off with water, so an accident would ruin the ami's face...

thanks everyone !!

saralynn: there are totebags! but i'm not sure about mugs, I'd like to learn more about the process (and i don't have the equipment, but I know a place that rents out their studio, so maybe..?) I'd love to make mugs, that doesn't involve just buying ceramic paint and painting it on, although that too has its charm.

bethia: well, I wouldn't recommend pouring water onto the amigurumi's face in general, haha. but we are currently experimenting with different ways of attaching the face. glue vs sewing on felt vs embroidery

Yeah. I have tried embroidery too, with french knots for eyes and such, but I think your amigurumi's faces are soooo much cuter! Maybe that is just because you are amazing, though?

Thank you for responding c:
